THERAPISTS IN FRANCE • MORNING WORKSHOP
Making Your Therapy Practice Work in France
A practical guide to navigating the French system without overwhelm or unnecessary expense.
Date: Wednesday, 13 January 2027 Time: 09:00 – 10:00 Paris time (08:00 – 09:00 UK time) Location: Online via Zoom Fee: Free (€0)
Session Description
Running a therapy practice in France means bringing together French business and administrative requirements with the professional obligations, finances, and everyday realities of being a therapist. In this practical workshop, Laura demystifies some of the systems that commonly confuse—from understanding cotisations and pension trimestres to navigating invoicing, insurance, client paperwork, and changing administrative requirements—and shows how they fit together in a small independent practice. The emphasis is on practical, proportionate, and affordable ways to understand what applies to you, identify what needs attention, and take the next steps without becoming overwhelmed. (Slide-based session; designed for international practitioners generally, not solely UK relocations).

- A practical way to review your own business and administrative arrangements

About the Presenter
Laura Harley BACP Accredited Counsellor, Psychopraticienne, and founder of French Practice Compliance Support
Laura Harley is a BACP Accredited Counsellor and psychopraticienne who has lived and worked in France since 2018. Having previously run both a limited company and worked as a sole trader in the UK, she has first-hand experience of adapting to a very different French business and administrative system. Alongside her clinical work and writing, Laura provides French Practice Compliance Support to therapists and other practitioners who want to understand and manage the administrative and professional side of their work in France. Her approach focuses on making unfamiliar systems understandable, finding proportionate and affordable solutions, and helping practitioners remain informed and in control of their own businesses rather than taking the administration over for them.
